International Patients

Patients from Nepal and further afield are treated here every week. This is what to arrange before you travel.

Before You Travel

Get an estimate first

Send us the diagnosis, the reports and any scans you already have. A consultant will look at them and we will send back a written opinion and a cost estimate — before you buy a ticket, not after you arrive.

Email care@cmhospitalpatna.in or send the documents over WhatsApp on +91 90316 83524. Scans and photographs of paper reports are fine.

Visa

Patients from most countries need a medical visa. Once you have accepted the estimate we will issue a letter on hospital letterhead confirming the treatment and the expected duration, which is what the consulate asks for. Nepali citizens do not need a visa.

Getting here

  • Patna airport (PAT) is about 30 minutes from the hospital.
  • Patna Junction railway station is about 20 minutes away.
  • Tell us your arrival time and we will arrange a pick-up.
  • Hotels and guest houses close to the hospital can be booked for family.

Language

Our staff speak Hindi, English, Bhojpuri and Maithili. For Nepali, Bengali or Urdu we arrange an interpreter — tell us in advance so someone is there when the consultant sees you, rather than being sent for afterwards.

Payment

  • Payment is in Indian rupees, by card or bank transfer.
  • An itemised bill is issued in English for your insurer at home.
  • Written estimates are given before every planned procedure.

Going home

You leave with a discharge summary in English, your reports, and a follow-up plan your own doctor can act on. Where a review is needed later we do it over a video call rather than asking you to travel again.

Bring your original reports. Films, CDs and paper reports from home are often more useful than repeating the tests here, and they save you both time and money.
